SAMUEL PLUMMER
is an emerging actor/director. He grew up at Avoca Beach on Australia's Central
Coast; however, in 2009 he graduated from a Bachelor of Communication Studies,
majoring in writing and publishing, at the University of New England, Armidale.
He also studied Theatre extensively, focusing on the history of theatre and its
impact on contemporary performance.
In 2009, Samuel directed a production of Philip Ridley's The Pitchfork Disney for
his major project, and he plans to extend upon his successful work in 2010. Samuel’s
focus is now directed at physical theatre and he is excited to be travelling to
Japan this year to train and perform with the internationally-acclaimed Butoh
company Dairakudakan. Samuel completed Zen Zen Zo's Company Internship Program
in 2010 and performed in the 2010 IN
THE RAW Studio Season of Dante's
Inferno (dir. Stephen Atkins).
Samuel performed alongside talented young students in the
2010 Creative Generation Showcase at the Brisbane Convention &
Exhibition Centre, directed by senior Zen Zen Zo company member, Dale Thorburn.
Later this year, Samuel will perform with Queensland Ballet in their production
of Swan Lake at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC).
