EDUCATION MANAGER / TEACHER
FRANCES MARRINGTON has trained and worked as a theatre performer, film
actor and arts administrator in Melbourne, Tasmania, Adelaide, Brisbane,
New York and Sweden over the last eight years. Performing highlights
include an eight month contract on the interactive show The Ship That
Never Was (2007) in Strahan, puppeteering for Robert Reid's award-winning
show Sad Bird Boy and Other Dreams of the City (2006), touring to
Adelaide with theatre in decay's Eight Days (2006), and playing the lead
in the recently released cult horror film Watch Me (2004). She has also
produced (and performed in) several shows, including Picasso's Women for
the Butterfly Club (2006), and a double-bill Hamlet / Oedipus for
Eagle's Nest Theatre (2006). She has a B.A. (Drama) from QUT, and studied
in the BDA (Acting) course at VCA in Melbourne. She has trained with Zen
Zen Zo since 2000, and initiated the popular annual Melbourne Stomp
intensive for the company in 2006. She has recently returned to Brisbane
to undertaking Zen Zen Zo's 2008 internship course, which will culminate
in the performance of Zeitgeist.
