The Tempest

thetempest2009.jpg "Winner of the 2009 Matilda Award for Best Independent Production"

"The dark originality evident in this radical retelling of Shakespeare's The Tempest will not disappoint. It is both a captivating cabaret and a delightful slice of contemporary physical theatre that offers intellectual and emotional exercise - an absolute must-see."

BRISTIX, 2009.

Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre presented a visually, physically and aurally stunning adaptation of Shakespeare's last play, The Tempest. Directed by Zen Zen Zo Artistic Director Lynne Bradley, this poetic and provocative retelling of Shakespeare's classic featured live music and a cast of 21 actors, dancers and singers. Including guest artists, Emma Dean (singer/songwriter) and Bryan Nason (Grin & Tonic Theatre Company's Artistic Director Emeritus), The Tempest was presented in promenade style and took the audience on a journey throughout the Concert Hall of Brisbane's Old Museum Building.
