Performance Company/ Teacher

ROB THWAITES is a BA(Media/ Theatre) graduate of the University of New South Wales. A graphic designer and animator by trade, Rob's true passion is for the theatre. In 2006, he completed the Zen Zen Zo Company Internship, working as Assistant Director, performer and animator on the company's production Sub Con Warrior 1. He devised a new work The Trees for Metro Arts in 2006, and previously directed Art (Orb Productions, 2002), a new musical Ride! Ride! (Orb Productions, 2001) and Black Comedy (N.U.T.S. 1999). His acting credits include lead roles in Dracula (Zen Zen Zo, 2007), The Caretaker (Vena Cava, 2007), Into The Woods (N.U.T.S. 2001) and A Clockwork Orange (N.U.T.S. 2000). In 2008 Rob will be performing/ designing for Sub-Con Warrior 2.0 at the Judith Wright Centre, Brisbane, and directing a new devised theatre work, A Catch of the Breath, based on the poetry of his grandfather Michael Thwaites.
