Breaking Boundaries

PHYSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOPS For Secondary Schools

For the 10th year, Zen Zen Zo brings its highly successful Breaking Boundaries workshop series to secondary schools throughout Australia. The seven 90-minute workshops provide an inspiring, practical approach to developing skills and knowledge in the area of physical theatre performance and creation.

Teaching Residencies

bb.jpgZen Zen Zo offers short or long-term Artist in Residence programs for anywhere between 5 hours and 15 weeks. From in-depth physical actor training to assisting students to create, develop, rehearse and direct their own performance work or any combination in between, we can structure an ongoing program to suit your needs, time-table and budget.

 

You can have a Zen Zen Zo Teaching Artist in residence at your school:

Per Hour @ $90 p/h + gst (min booking of 5 hours - can be spread over a period of time)
Per Day @ $350 p/d + gst (min booking of 2 days - normal school hours)
Per Week @ $1200 p/w + gst (normal school hours)

Travel expense of $40 will apply to schools outside of the Brisbane Metropolitan area.

 
Directing Residencies
This exciting program provides a highly experienced Zen Zen Zo Teaching-Artist to direct and manage a full-scale production over a full school term.

Teachers' Training Course 2008

For Secondary School Educators

Now in it's 6th year, Zen Zen Zo's popular Teachers' Training Course provides a practical insight into the dynamic world of physical theatre. Led by Zen Zen Zo's international Teaching Artists, the course is designed to train educators to teach physical theatre in secondary schools.

The unique teachers' training experience aims to provide teachers with:

  • an in-depth understanding of Physical Theatre
  • an experience of "Viewpoints" as a Physical Theatre teaching tool
  • a practical, artistic experience for teachers
  • an opportunity to engage with Zen Zen Zo's unique approach to training
