Lisa Worthington is a teaching artist, with experience in teaching, directing and performing. Lisa's love of performing started in musical theatre when she was involved in productions including Oklahoma (1998), Beauty and the Beast (1998), Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat (1999),The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1999), as well as playing Anybodys in West Side Story (2000) and Dot in Honk (2000) with Rockhampton Musical Union.
While she completed her Bachelor of Education at Central Queensland University, she was a performer and co-writer of The Storybook Theatre Project (2001), The Lighthouse Café (2002), Short Snips (2003) and a regional Queensland touring project Metro City (2002).
Living and working in Cairns for the last five years has given Lisa the opportunity to work as an associate director and performer with NQ Academy of Dramatic Art (NQADA) including roles such as Gertrude in 15 Minute Hamlet (2004), Angela in Secret Bridesmaid Business (2005) and Margaret in Minefields and Miniskirts (2006). Lisa also produced and performed as Lynne in Cairns Little Theatre's production of The White Rose of Annadale (2008). Her directing credits include Hating Alison Ashley (1999), So Much to Tell You (2005), Grease (2006), Aladdin (2007) and NQADA's production of Macbeth (2007). Lisa has also directed a variety of one-act plays but most notably received the Best Director award for Seven Days in the Far North Queensland One Act Play Festival in 2008. Lisa has trained in Laban and Commedia Del'Arte with the Australian Theatre School and more recently in Viewpoints and Suzuki Actor Training with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre.
